These are the new HD guidelines. They're important so you should read it.

Rosti, chopin, Kitaru, caffeine and ryan_heise enlightened me on some mistakes and inconsistencies we've been making as a moderating staff. As this is the first website/community I've ever hosted, I will take the blame as an inexperienced administrator. We have been letting way too many members get away with things they shouldn't have, and at the same time closing threads we should have left alone.

There will be a new moderating team who should be able to do a good and fair job and carry the qualities that I feel HD is about. These are the members I trust can do a good job. Just so everyone is clear about what they can expect from moderators, and what moderators expect from members, you can see below:

As of right now if you choose to continue on this site, you are agreeing to the new rules of the site.

QUOTE

MEMBERS

These rules apply to both the shoutbox and forums

Do not spam or solicit members.

No inappropriate discussions (rape, porn, emulators & roms, etc.)

No purposely bypassing the word filter.

No racial slurs (even incorrectly spelled ones like chank).

No pornography, this includes cartoons.

No inappropriate links (video of person getting killed, etc.)

No illegal content

Use the search feature, do not repost topics already made.

Do not insult/attack another player or their family. Even if you are doing this jokingly, if the other person is offended, it will still count.

If you are warned by a moderator to stop doing something, stop

Do not post your phone number or address.

Moderators will enforce the above guidelines with the appropriate punishment they deem fit.

QUOTE

MODERATORS:

Must follow all of the member guidelines above.

Give a public and direct warning when a rule is being broken - If you feel the offense warrants an instant ban then no warning is necessary.

Use your judgement on what the penalty will be (higher penalty for repeat offenders or racial slurs, etc.)

Read those reported post e-mails.

Must be active in the community, if your last login reaches 1 month you will be demodded.

Can not close a topic unless it's a reposted topic, the topic starter is found to be breaking a rule, the topic is meant to purposely cause drama, or if 3 moderators feel it should be closed due to its content or lack of meaningful content.

Stay mature even when a member is being immature.

Members need to understand that moderators are not on the website 24/7. If you see people getting away with breaking rules, it doesn't mean it's okay if you do it too. If there are rules being broken with no moderator around, report them by sending a PM to a moderator or using the report post button. I tried to make the rules as clear as possible this time. If you have any questions feel free to ask here, as from now on these rules will be enforced as consistently as we can do it. If you choose to stay I look forward to a cleaner and more mature HD with you.

If you choose not to stay, I thank you for the time you spent helping this community grow and can recommend a good and mature Tetris community if you aren't on it already: http://tetrisconcept.net .

Yeah, thanks mippo, too much on my mind to sleep right now. I am keeping 2 moderators so far, with more if they are willing to do what is expected of them. As for any others, it's not decided yet.

I support these rules and will be remain an active member of this Tetris community. I know that I've probably been slightly an offender of some of these rules in the past, but will do my best to abide by them!

Like many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

Sounds good, and sensible. The latter being the most important factor.

These look good to me. I was honestly surprised that you didn't have something along these lines before. It's also good that the moderator guidelines are public; no one can say they didn't know what might happen that way.

I'm an admin over at Visionary Tales. Yeah, we're a role playing forum. Yes, this means I'm geekier than you are.
