I'm not that fast, but then again I don't play 40L that often, only advice I can give you is use your previews, no hold is good idea for 40L and just practice

As for TGM I'm not good at it

Blockbox has fast DAS, so it would be benefit you to learn some fast DAS finesse.  I noticed that when you need the piece 1 away from the wall, you're tapping it into place when it would be faster to DAS to wall and tap 1 back.  Other than that your stacking looks very nice, the bad ending sort of messed up your time a bit.

The ideal way to complete Tetris Friend's Sprint mode is by performing 10 Tetrises, I noticed in your replay that you do a ton of singles, which is slowing you down because your time suffers from line clear delay for every line clear you make.  Your current record has 27 line clears, so you go through around 3x the amount of line clear delay as players who perform 10 tetrises.  Also, in a game with slow DAS like Tetris Friends, your speed is optimized by tapping every piece into place rather than holding the key down - with the exception being pieces that you need at the walls.

I don't play TGM so hopefully a member who does will help you out.

You played really well but are you adjusting your gameplay depending on the situation?  Keep an eye on your opponents field because I noticed some rounds you could have finished Paranoid off much quicker by not clearing a double but instead stacking up a bit higher for a tetris.  If you look at the opponents field, you can see whether or not its safe to go for the finishing blow.  There is such a thing as too much or unnecessary downstacking.

I've been trying to beat this record for a while.

Some things I am curious about:

-Learned all rotations, finesse, whats next?
-What will it take to eventually get sub 30 times
-Is there a quicker and easier way to stack?

Omg lol. That's me

You should've told me you were recording. Now everyone knows how bad I play.

But I guess I can use your post to ask for advice.
My stats after the match: 125.8 TPM, 50.8 LPM, 20.4 APM

Thanks Blink, that was absolutely fantastic advice. I never knew how much the tetrising vs. singling would effect me. Also, the tapping, I usually do, but I was told that holding was faster so it just so happened that for my record I actually was holding. Also, I consult you sometimes on facebook!

not really good either but ill try to help...

at lvl23, the blue piece looks better if it's placed in the middle horizontally to keep a pyramid shape.

at lvl49, the orange piece can be rotated left/counterclockwise with IRS, then tapped right twice and rotated left twice again to clear 3 lines. this is a really useful type of move with the L/J pieces. you can perform a similar move at lvl55 with the blue piece (IRS right, hold left, rotate right twice).

try to keep the field looking more like a pyramid rather than a valley too. thats about all i have to say

Good Job on getting a new record!

However, you should practice using hold more! And also, you should try to stack for and clear tetrises, because in Tetris Friends, there is a line clear delay, so when you get lots of singles, it uses up a lot of time.

Keep on playing!

Finally managed to break 70 seconds yesterday on Tetris Friends, so I'm very happy about that. =) Still, my goal is sub-60, but I'm not sure what I need to improve and practice to break that seemingly impossible barrier.

http://www.tetrisfriends.com/users/profile.php?id=572010

I'm also very inconsistent at that speed, managing to clear 40 Lines successfully only about 5% of the time and usually getting around 1:15 when I do succeed. Any tips, advice, or notes about what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

If I find the time, I'll do a level-by-level analysis of Wojtek's game. We really need a teaching tool for this. Student records replay, teacher records branches demonstrating different possibilities, adds comments, sends back to student... That's something else I'd like to work on if I find the time, haha.

Until then, I'll just throw a link to the mostly complete English version of J.O's TGM guide out there: http://files.getdropbox.com/u/790563/TGMGUIDE/index.htm
