I don't see why you don't have Splash on there as well since you have Evolution. As far as I know the choice for the 360 that most people play is Splash. Another thing I was wondering is what modes you will have for Evolution. Don't know if you have ever played it, but there are about 30 different ways to play.... If you haven't played it I can send you a list of all the modes.

edit: ok, am I being stupid or did you just update the list?? I did just wake up, but I didn't think I was THAT tired to not see Splash and the various modes on Evo....

lol hi dumbledore - splash was always on that list lol. Yes, please send me a list of some more evolution modes that should be included, and if possible, their score format.

Lets see......

Tetris Evolution gameplay modes:

Marathon: Two ways to play this. Fixed goal (150 lines, who remembers playing the game normally?) and variable goal (TTC's current marathon scoring system).

Ultra
: 1 minute, 3 minutes and 5 minutes.

Cascade
: Only one way to play this.

Race: 10 lines, 25 lines and 40 lines. (scored by time)

Score: 5,000 points, 10,000 points and 25,000 points. (scored by time)

Hotline: Only one way to play.

Go Low: Fixed and variable goal systems

Eraser: 4 lines, 6 lines and 8 lines (scored by time)

Unless otherwise noted, everything is ranked by score. I'm thinking everything for Marathon, Cascade, Race and Ultra. I know thats what you already have listed, I'm just agreeing with you. Score might be fun to have, but like you said there probably won't be many entries for this game and I don't know how much work you want to put into it.

I take it TOD and LJ65 never took off. Otherwise:
  • LJ65 (slow) for points
  • LJ65 (20G) for points
  • TOD (marathon) for points
  • TOD (150 dash) for time
  • TOD (time trial) for points

I have a question for modes which have a ton of stages - Tetris Party Stage Racer for example - should I make it fastest record for ALL stages ? or have each stage a mode to choose from the dropdown list for submitting a record - because then there would be a ton of modes in the dropdown list for stage racer A, stage racer B , stage racer C and so on.

I think a combined time would be easier, especially since a couple sites already give the option to post records for individual courses, so people can find those records if they really care about comparing times for each course. I think it's more important to try to have records for all the Tetris games than have records for every single aspect of every game, especially for fringe game modes like that.

thanks iphys - i need some help with score formats of Tetris Party modes and Tetris DS standard/catch/mission/puzzle modes. How are they scored and are they similar to stage racer's mode in that there's a ton of stages? For now I might leave out the modes with a ton of different stages, or have people only post their best score of all the stages while specifying the stage they used to obtain that score.

I never played Party, but maybe I can help with DS

Catch: X points (leaving out max level and detonation surface)
Mission: 5 difficulty levels (Time Trial), Marathon if you must
Puzzle: No score, ergo no leaderboard

Standard has Line Clear and Marathon (and Endless if you're really bored). Line Clear has multiple level/heights to choose from, but it scores you more points based on level+height and only records your best score for whatever level/height you happened to achieve it at. Standard marathon just records a high score.

Catch gives you a high score. There's also a record for maximum detonation size, but I doubt anyone cares about that enough to have a leaderboard for it.

Mission has a marathon that gives a high score and 5 different time trials where you aim for minimum times. Might be best to combine the times as one total record to save trouble.

Touch Tower has 5 different levels that it reports high scores for -- again might be easier to combine this as one total score, rather than having multiple records.

There's also Tetris points, which is an overall record for the game where you try to get a maximum number of points based on your scores, times, etc. in all the game modes (save for Endless and Wi-Fi battle).

Tetris Party has records for maximum score and minimum time for Marathon, (Endless Marathon score and maximum number of lines . . . if we care), number of Consecutive Tetrises (and back-to-backs, although this usually just differs by 1), maximum score for Beginner's Tetris (shows separate score records for easy pieces and normal pieces when you actually play it, but most people will probably just play with the default easy pieces), 10 minimum times for the Stage Racer courses, Shadow mode minimum time (should be for 3000% completion), and Field Climber minimum time (should be for level 10 completion). There's also Wi-fi ratings for No Items/Items, but given how easy (and dreadfully slow) it is to max out those ratings, they're kind of meaningless.

Just an update - the leaderboard won't be done until the end of next week. Alot of stuff is working already, but we underestimated how much time we needed to get everything finished.

We're so close, so close I say! Tomorrow or Thursday we'll have some members test it out, and if all is well we'll launch it.

the leaderboard is up!! the account button is going to be replaced by the Records button, and account will be moved to the main page inside that box with Teams, Blogs, Photo Gallery.

http://www.harddrop.com/records

TGM style records are manually sorted, all others are fine.

Anyone found to be submitting false records will be banned.

THE SORTING IS STILL MESSED UP FOR SOME GAME MODES RIGHT NOW** WILL BE FIXING IT TOMORROW
