"Would you classify 180° T-Spins as real/true T-Spins"
(if you think they are more of a miscellaneous,"not really" then the answer is no)
(if you think they are true blue legit, then answer yes)

Do not answer the question LITERALLY (otherwise the answer will be yes) but rather what you think (i.e. do you think 180 T-Spins are really T-Spins or are they some magic bull poo)

Things to consider:
  • 180° is not in guideline, it was introduced by nullpomino
  • 180° wall-kicks do not adhere to the guideline wall-kick table either: they are completely fabricated.
  • The method used to detect "180 T-Spin" is still 3-Corner (kick allowed)
  • Guidelines change. E.g. 3-Corner with no Kick was a rule at one point, 3-Corner with Kick was a standard before and after this point of time.
  • The guideline will probably never include 180°
  • Do you "agree" with the guideline? (if so your answer will tend towards no, if not your answer may tend towards yes)
Please post your thought processes.

Like many setups here, it is useful if your opponent doesn't move and you get 4 Ts in a row.

The wording is misleading, since you can do some "legitimate" T-Spins by way of a 180 rotation. I would instead ask, "would you classify T-Spins that are only possible by using kicks exclusive to 180 rotations as a real and/or true T-Spin?"

I assume that people know what i'm talking about when i say 180 t-spins. I agree that my wording was not the "best" but the meaning implied is obvious and i'm sure everyone know what iw as really asking.

Wasn't there some old guideline tetris game that had 180? We called the engine SRS-X? I remember seeing how to do teleport tetrises from that. Were the 180 spins nowadays possible in that game?

heboris.

Version: Mini, right? In short, if you have 4-orientation S/Z/I, down/left/right kicks, and 180 rotation, the game will allow for crazy spin moves.

To be honest, I don't see why any game developer felt the need to include kicks for 180 rotation. I see 180s as a way to increase speed--not as a method to allow for new placements that were otherwise impossible.

agreed. Also the kick tables for 180° are don't even make sense.
