Playing Tetris can cure children’s lazy eye

Lazy eye or Amblyopia is an eye disorder. The disease is caused due to poor visual stimuli transmitted through the optic nerve to the brain. This will cause the view to be blurred. Treatment of lazy eye disease has been developed for a long time. Experts who actively contributed to develop amblyopia treatment are Anita Simmers and Pamela Knox. They both have started research since 2010 at Glasgow Caledonian University. At that time, a group of children were asked to play Tetris while wearing special glasses. The glasses displayed multiple images on different screens. More brightly colored images were directed to the impaired eye, while dimmer images were displayed to the normal eye. This study aimed to keep both eyes (normal and impaired) were able to work together in order to accelerate the healing process.
