Playing Tetris can cure children’s lazy eye

Lazy eye or Amblyopia is an eye disorder. The disease is caused due to poor visual stimuli transmitted through the optic nerve to the brain. This will cause the view to be blurred. Lazy eye problem is often experienced by children at early age, and the number of people with this disease is estimated about 1-5 per cent of the population. There are several treatment methods that can be done for this disease, one of which is playing tetris game. Tetris is one of children’s favorite games. Not only can sharpen intelligence, playing Tetris can cure children’s lazy eye. For those of you who have children with visual impairment, you should try this treatment method.

At therapy, children are required to wear blinders on the normal eye and the eye with problem will be left uncovered, then the treatment can be started. Playing Tetris can cure children’s lazy eye, so you should begin the process of this therapy since early. If you need a guide, you should immediately consult a doctor. This therapy can’t give instant results, needs patience to be truly successful. Besides being patient while therapy, you have to be patient in guiding your child. Treatment of lazy eye disease has been developed for a long time. Experts who actively contributed to develop amblyopia treatment are Anita Simmers and Pamela Knox. They both have started research since 2010 at Glasgow Caledonian University. At that time, a group of children were asked to play Tetris while wearing special glasses. The glasses displayed multiple images on different screens. More brightly colored images were directed to the impaired eye, while dimmer images were displayed to the normal eye. This study aimed to keep both eyes (normal and impaired) were able to work together in order to accelerate the healing process.
