Full Ruleset

  1. All players must have a registered Tetris Friends username and password

  1. Matches will start at 2:00 sharp. Please come by 1:30 so I know you are attending, and can let you know your group. If you have not come by 2:15, a place in the tournament is no longer guaranteed, and all matches not played due to lateness beyond this time will be counted as losses.
  2. It is your responsibility to be there for all matches. If you are not there for a match, I will wait exactly 10 minutes for you. If you are still not there after that period, the match will be forfeited and given to your opponent. If neither of you are there, both of you forfeit the match.

Matches and Format:

  1. There will be 16 groups of 4, with the top 16 players seeded by Tetris Friends Sprint time, played in round robin format: 1 point for a win, 0 points for a loss. The top 2 in each group go into a knockout round of 32 players. If necessary, set count-back will be used to determine who is in 2nd place in a group. If that does not decide the outcome, then if player 1 beat player 2 in the group stage, then player 1 is 2nd, and player 2 is 3rd.
  2. Each match in the group stages will be first to 10, win by 1 (at 9-9, the winner of the set will win the match). In the knockout stages, each match will be first to 10, win by 2 (at 9-9, players keep playing until someone is 2 clear points in front (e.g. 11-9.) From semi-finals onwards, but excluding play-offs for places 8 to 5, each match will be first to 15, win by 2.
  3. Each match will be a 1v1 game, played in E+ rooms, no items, no maps. If neither player can make an E+ room, they should find me, who will make one. If not, I will accept matches played in non-E rooms, but note that they make the settings harder for the player on a winning streak, so the game is not on a level playing field once you start playing.
  4. There will be a maximum of 2 warm-up sets before each match. The player who wants warm-ups has priority over the player who does not. So if player A wants a second warm-up but player B does not, player A gets priority and there will be another warm-up match.
  5. There will be a sheet to report your score in for the group games. For the finals, both players need to confirm their scores to me.

  1. I will give away all the prizes on the day, at the end of the tournament.
  2. If I have not received the prize you are due by the day of the tournament, I will send it in the post (2nd class) when I do receive it, along with an e-mail letting you know when I receive it and when I dispatch it.

Payment and Refunds:

  1. If you booked your place but then cannot make it, message for a full refund, provided you e-mail before 1st July. If you e-mail on or after 1st July, I cannot give you a refund.
  2. It costs £10 to book in advance, but £12 if you come on the day.
  3. You will be able to book a place at the event at any time until and including 21st July. At 00:00 on 21st July, you will no longer be able to book a place online; you will have to come into the Gamerbase centre. Any transactions submitted on or after this time will be fully refunded.
  4. All profit made from the tournament will go to Childreach International, registered charity number 1132203.
