For over a year, Maserati stood alone at the top of the 40 lines leaderboard. He will now be sharing his throne with another player.

The 2 fastest Tetris players on Hard Drop (and possibly in the world) are now on even terms as members Apocalypse (Dominican Republic) and Maserati (USA) have tied their 40 lines records of 23.04 seconds.

Both players achieved their records at the incredible rate of 265 tetrominos per minute!

Both records were performed on Blockbox, a Tetris clone which eliminates line clear delay and allows for instant DAS (delayed auto shift) to achieve some of the quickest gameplay possible.

To see how the records were done see below:

Note the differences in piece placement, Maserati uses a middle gap while Apocalypse uses right gap.

It's only a matter of time before someone breaks 22 seconds, who will it be??

Looks like Apocalypse will have a lot easier time improving his record judging by those videos. If he can work on not using hold and not stalling out at the end, I bet he can shave a second easy.

Thanks everyone, If anyone can get in touch with Maserati it would be great, its going to be him or me to beat the "world record" the Korean guy has, can't do it without some pressure.

Wow, that's freaking amazing. I don't know how you guys do it. To answer your question, massi4h, there is a 21.97 second 40 lines record on as of now (and a bunch of 22 second records). You have to click on the button that has "40" on it.
