"Toy innovator Techno Source and Blue Planet Software, Inc. today announced a licensing agreement that grants Techno Source the exclusive rights worldwide to develop Tetris tabletop games, both electronic and non-electronic. Techno Source’s tabletop games, based on the iconic Tetris video game, will be introduced at retail beginning in 2011.

“Tetris is the most recognized casual gaming brand in the world,” says Eric Levin, president, Techno Source. “Our tabletop games will offer Tetris fans around the world, from hardcore gamers to soccer moms, a whole new way to experience the Tetris effect.”

Interesting idea. I'm wondering what they could come up with, especially along the lines of multi-player. However, there is already something like this out. Here is the link for those of you who are interested.

As in board game or table top arcade like from the 70's?
