"Satellite TV provider DISH Network, along with Oberon Media and the Tetris Company, has announced the launch of an interactive game service called Tetris TV.
Here's how it stacks up: For $2.99 a month, the new service allows DISH Network customers to play the addicting video game on their television sets with their remote controls, for hours and hours (and hours) on end.
There will be two versions of the Russian block-stacking game available: Marathon, which takes Tetris players through 15 levels, and 40-Lines, a mad-dash race to clear all 40 lines the quickest.
Lest you get bored with solitary play, the press announcement also teased that upcoming versions of Tetris TV will allow subscribers to compete against each other, as well as the opportunity for tournaments and prizes
This DISH Network partnership is just the first for casual game provider Oberon Media, who has plans to take its interactive TV service worldwide.
According to Oberon senior director of ITV programming and service management Jonathan Boltax: "The Tetris game is the perfect example of satiating the public's ravenous appetite to play casual games on all platforms, and it's a perfect fit for the iTV platform.""

3 Dollars per month? In 12 months I can buy TDS or Tetris Splash on my 360 (if I had one) or even import a TGM:ACE with a proxy service from Japan. (I think)
